TRANSPORTION TO STANFORD UNIVERSITY

Renting a car:

Jose Airports and at several locations in Palo Alto.

Van services and public transit:

South Bay Airport Shuttle  (800) 548-4664/(408) 559-9477

One-way, door-to-door service for $15 ($5 each additional person) to
and from any airport terminal at San Francisco OR San Jose Airports. 
Pick up at San Francsico is upstairs on departure level at blue/yellow
sign; reservations required, with a $10 service charge after 11:30pm.
Pick up at San Jose Airport is outside backage claim.

Bayporter Express  (650) 467-1800	

One-way, door-to-door service for $17 ($10 each additional person) to 
and from San Francsico Airport terminals 1 and 3. Pick up is upstairs
on departure level at the red sign. Reservations recommended. They
do NOT have service from San Jose Airport. 

Super Shuttle  (650) 558-8500	

One-way service for $23 ($8 each additional person) to and from San
Francisco Airport. Pick up is upstairs on departure level at marked
locations. The service runs 24 hours a day, with reservation required
only on return trips. Limited to three stop maximum per shuttle trip.
Charters to/from San Jose Airport for up to seven passengers (with 
reservation required) are available for $70. 

Yellow Cab Taxi  (650) 321-1234

About $42 from San Francsico Airport to Stanford University and about
$28 from San Jose Airport. Pick up in the airport arrival areas. From
Stanford, you must call and give your name, airline, flight number,
and departure time.

Cal Train  (800) 660-4287

From San Francsico Airport, take the SFO Cal Train Shuttle to Millbrae
station, then Cal Train to University Avenue Station in Palo Alto
(fare $3). 

From San Jose Airport, take bus #65 (fare $1.10) to the Santa Clara
station. Train fare from Santa Clara Station to University Avenue
Station in Palo Alto is $1.50. 

From the University Avenue depot to Stanford campus, take buses #35 
or #300 ($1.10 each trip or $2.20 for a day pass), or take the free
Marguerite Shuttle to Stanford during commuter hours Monday through
Friday.

County bus service:	

From San Francsico Airport, take bus #7F South to Stanford Shopping
Center.  This leaves every 30 minutes, takes about 55 minutes, and
costs under a dollar. Call SamTrans at (800) 660-4287 for schedules. 
If you arrive at the shopping center during commuter hours Monday
through Friday, take the free Marguerite Shuttle (purple line) to the
Main Quad or transfer to the SLAC shuttle for Governor's Corner. If
you arrive in the evening or on a weekend, you will have a mile's 
walk to campus.

From San Jose Airport on Monday through Friday, take bus #10 North 
to Benton and El Camino Real; cross the street and take bus #300 to
the Stanford Quad, then the SLAC shuttle for Governor's Corner. On
weekends, take bus #10 North to Monroe and Franklin; cross the street 
and take bus #22 to the University Avenue Station in Palo Alto; then
take bus #35 to the Stanford Quad. Call Santa Clara County Transit
at (800) 894-9908 for schedules; bus fares are $1 for each trip 
with no transfers being issued.
