Barbara Kelly
Barbara Kelly's primary research interests are in language acquisition
and discourse. She has been investigating the role of information flow
in conversation and patterns of syntactic priming in discourse. Her
gesture work focuses on language-learning, specifically on young
children's speech and gesture combinations. She is currently studying
how children's development moves from using speech and gesture
combinations as their primary means of communication, to using
multi-word utterances with verbs, and subject and object arguments.
