Katherine Young
Katharine Young is an independent scholar and writer in Berkeley,
California. Her current research on gestures in somatic psychological
practice addresses the kinaesthetics of gesture, emotion as the
deferral of action, time and the body, consciousness and the trope of
interiority, the memory of the senses, and mimesis and the
self-copying body. She has published work on narrative, the body, and
medicine. Her most recent book is Presence in the Flesh: The Body in
Medicine. Cambridge, MA: Harvard University Press (1997).
