"Neural Oscillators and the Brain"
Jose Acacio de Barros
Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil.
Neurons in the brain often fire synchronously, creating neural oscillators. Because these oscillators are weakly coupled, they may synchronize. I will discuss weakly coupled oscillators and their use to model learning. Our learning models are based on assumptions supported by neurophysiological evidence. We then compare the learning behavior of the neural oscillator model to psychological experimental results.
