Nineteenth Annual Conference of the Cognitive Science Society

Topics for Invited Symposia

The 1997 conference will include eight invited symposia on topics of general interest to the cognitive science community, focusing on areas not typically represented at the meeting. The topics for these symposia include:

Each symposium will run for half a day and will include two survey talks by senior scientists. Most symposia will also include a mixture of invited research talks describing recent advances in the area and talks based on submitted papers.

Because these invited symposia will fill an entire parallel track, the 1997 conference will not include any submitted symposia. Also, because each symposium will incorporate survey talks, there will be no invited plenary addresses at the meeting.
